What do you think?

As a citizen of Earth, a member of the human race, I examine my existence and know it is not my place to judge another. Together we have created a world of us or them. A world where wars are fought, greed rules the day, every man for himself, hiearchy rather than equality.

I make no judgements only observations. On an individual level we are equal in our desire to live and enjoy our time here on Earth. We desire the love and respect of those we hold dear. We desire peace but are forcefed the ideals and beliefs of our predesessors which promote anything but peace.

Because of this exposure, by the time we are of an age to make a difference we have lost the innocence and hope of our youth. As children the world is a wonderful and exciting place of discovery and creativity. Yet all too soon we discover we have little power to live our hearts desire.

If we are born into religion we are taught the beliefs and dogma of our faith. All too soon we learn not to question these and to reject differing points of view. Even though these would help us see our connection to one another. I do not need to elabotate on these teachings for the conditions they promote are all too obvious if one but takes notice.

My hope is that we will someday be responsible enough to see that any system which does not recognize the individual right of each and every being to a peaceful, abundant, creative existence need not have our support.

Religion for all it's virtues, for it does have those, has not been able to bring about peace. Instead, each has the belief that they have THE truth for EVERYONE and all who do not agree are lost. This motivates adherants to degrees of discipleship which vary from unconditional love to annihilation of non-believers. As such, unity will never be attained.

Government systems, the long arm of the powerful elite, publicly promise peace and prosperity, while their actions are built on deception, greed and power. To insure compliance, force, coersion, manipulation...are used. We need not look far to see there is no desire for equality.

Sovereign individuals from birth, it is in our power to create a world where all are equal, where Earth's bounty is shared, where all have equal opportunity to move about and enjoy our planet. Though this is our potential it is doubtful such an exstence will ever be possible.

So long as we continue to support systems of seperation there will never be unity or peace on Earth. So long as we support by action or inaction, belief systems which do not recognize and repect the individuals right to choose, we will never have peace on Earth.

So long as we continue to support systems which promote fear and control, recognize borders and focus on differences instead of seeing ourselves as citizins of Earth as beings who desire only to exist and enjoy the fruits of our labors, we shall not have peace.

It is not necessary to change the world. What is called for is a deep and abiding desire to be for change as an individual.

As one I can choose to live in peace, to not judge, to do no harm, to share and not hoard, to respect and appreciate the beauty and unique contributions of all others.

What kind of world would be created when all had food, shelter and opportunity to pursue our hopes and dreams not at the expense of others but mutually, One for All.

I know given the circumstances of our current systems this may never become a reality and its quite possible we will destroy ourselves and our planet before we can come together as ONE.

Given the insane way in which we conduct our affairs it is probably insane to even hope.

But armed only with the transformation of my own life I continue to hope. I know our potential because I see it alive in me. And since I am not special nor more advantaged than any other, I have much hope.

Wars are not so easy to fight when we see ourself in our targets. When we recognize them as sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, mothers, fathers it is not so easy to pull the trigger. But history, shows us if nothing else that war does not bring peace, religion does not bring peace, laws do not bring peace. All these systems promote disunity, differences, fear and inequality.

How long we will continue down this backwards path I do not know. I only see that we have the potential for change. The potential for equality. But potential without action brings no change at all.

If we are not part of the solution we are responsible for the evil that exists in our world.

There is No Lack of Excuses

There is no lack of excuses

When we want to justify

The course our behavior took

Responsibility denied

I know but I was unhappy

Why should that have to be

I deserve to be happy

The problem is not with me

Or how about I’m in love

Uncomfortable, confused

Frightened or feeling lonely

Responsibility excused

Then there’s I’m only human

What kind of excuse is that

Are we not capable of more

Than settling to just react

Fulfillment is never had

When we would gratify self

So rise above reactions

Put your feelings on the shelf

What makes humans so special

Is we are able to decide

How we are going to react

When principles are applied

Have You Thought About The Way

Have you thought about the way

So many people live today

They drown their fears in wine and dope

And uppers they say give them hope

And downers help them to be mellow

But turn around their backs is yellow

Some can’t make it through the day

Without popping pills they say

Can’t you see you silly fool

Getting high is the thing to do

It makes you more aware they say

This magic drug for which they pay

But now they’re down and life is tough

The magic drug is not enough

I’m Lonely in a Crowded Place

I’m lonely in a crowded place

For I see not a friendly face

My words of greeting are ignored

The crowd seems so very bored

I cannot see a smile there

There’s so much hatred everywhere

They each have their many troubles

The light turns green the tension doubles

For each has a destination

Society is the explanation

On the Brink of Destruction

On the brink of destruction

We turned back the clock

We opened our hearts

Annihilation we stopped

We turned back to nature

Put destruction on hold

With love in our hearts

We reached our goals

There is a silver lining

In all of life you see

Through eyes of love

And life that’s judgment free

In every blessed moment

There is opportunity

To see our self reflected

In everything we see

A chance to paint a future

Bright and worry free

Where everyone is a winner

Happy and living free

We can know it’s all good

When our hearts are pure

When love is the only choice

Happiness is ensured

Does not matter what has been

Does not matter who we were

Stop all the blaming

And love will be our cure

I Do Not Think We Realize

I do not think we realize

To what extent we criticize

We take for granted someone’s feelings

And talk about their off time dealings

We just seem to ramble on

And talk about the one that’s gone

It won’t hurt they can’t hear

But you can’t hide that nasty sneer

We hardly ever look inside

To find some good that there might hide

The other guy is to blame

For giving me this tarnished name

I could never do any wrong

My righteous virtues are too strong

But what is said behind my back

What real friend do I lack

Who stabs me without a trace

Then smiles in my tear stained face

From me to you I think it’s sad

We miss the good and see the bad

When must this senseless torture cease

How high a price is there for peace

Driven

Must have it

Can’t find it

Try this or

Try that

This brought pleasure

That brought pain

But either way

I’m empty again

This brought comfort

That brought sorrow

Where am I going

I’ll know tomorrow

This brought laughter

That brought tears

The emptiness hurts

Magnifies my fears

This brought joy

That brought misery

I’m driven to fill

The void in me

This numbed the pain

That made me forget

Then tomorrow comes

The void with me yet

And now at last

I found what works

Unconditional love

Heals all hurt

What Kind of World

What kind of world

Will we create

When we rise

To our potential

Our greatest

Potential

Lies in the

Nature

Of our

Ability

To love

Let it be

Simply stated

Say’s it all

And more

Let it be

Let it be

Let it be

Let it be

Let it sink in

We each ever

Desire

Happiness

This comes

From being

Happy

It is a choice

We can choose

Then it will be

Is There Hope in a World so Cold

Is there hope in a world so cold

Will we learn from the lessons told

Can’t you see where we are going

Is there time to change with knowing

Empty heads, smiling faces, scared of everything. Living their lives like it really matters what happened the other day.

Living petty lives, living petty lives

Do not even make them feel insecure they’ll go at you tooth and nail. Because they are much too shallow to realize the responsibility is theirs.

You’re ugly but you’re human you must have mutated genes cause the master craftsman molded us in an image not unlike its own, each detail as perfect as the next, no mutations, no mistakes, just the ability to choose.

What makes a human beautiful? For some it might be looks, but looks can only go so far cause they can’t hide the real you forever.

You see the beautiful people so blissfully in love but then before you know it they are happier apart. Their looks were not enough to make love work. The attraction gave way to reality and the reality is, as we have always known: beauty is only skin-deep.

It takes much more than a pretty face to make a beautiful person. Beauty is seen in compassion and caring, in forgiveness and seeing the good in another, in forgetting about self to do the unselfish thing without bringing it back to self.

What can a person gain from another’s pain and when you think about it, what do they gain? Granted there are those whose looks, likes, demeanor welcome us to criticize but when all is said and done cruelty does not consider the scars left for life.

I See a World

I see a world

Where love exists

The source

Of everything

A world of Beings

Who recognize

A connection

To ALL that is

There are

No borders

No prejudice

No anger hate

Or greed

24 Hours of Heaven and Hell

End of the day closing the night

The news comes in about a deadly flight

Disbelief as the news comes across

Thoughts of the souls whose lives are now lost

Even before the initial shock sinks in

A second hijacked plane would add to the din

As we stare and to the north there’s smoke

The second tower sustains an explosive blow

The news unfolds about another attack

The Pentagon has sustained a deadly sack

The American people are taken aback

As I watched on in disbelief

Disintegration I now see

How on earth can such atrocities be

Within hours America’s darkest sights

Entwine with heroism into the night

The cries of loved ones whose hope is gone

The desperation of those still searching on

All day long I can’t turn away

As tragedy and unity are on display

A nation tunes in as events unfold

Incredible stories being told

For the first time all flights aground

The two towers now a rubble mound

Visions of people running in fright

A cry goes up for vengeance and right

Missing fliers speak of hope

As with the news we attempt to cope

And across the land unities cry

To avenge the deaths of all who have died

New York’s skyline forever changed

Nine one one an infamous day

What Are The Chances

You could say in a way

We're having the time of our life

Depending on your perspective

I know for me

Life's greatest blessings

Came from my darkest hours

This taught me to see life as a gift

A blessed opportunity

Which is how I know

Things CAN be good

No matter how they appear

Cause everything we experience

Gives us another chance to choose

Nothing ever stays the same

And change is what we need

We've chosen so far

To be led along

Like obedient little sheeples

So then we could say

It's all THEIR fault

How could I be to blame

I'm not the starving children

Sending our youth off to war

Raping and pillaging our planet

I just choose to ignore

Don't make me responsible

What could I do anyway

I just try to get along

At least

While I'm not the one hurting

But change is only

A matter of choice

And time might be running out

So can't we all just get along

Start helping out one another

Make sure EVERYONE

Gets their piece of the pie

While we harmonize

With our Mother

She's been very patient

I would say

But her patience is wearing thin

If we don't see our potential

She might have to give us a shout

WAKE UP little sheeples

Don't be afraid

Just take ALL to account

When we stop hurting each other

We'll be able to work things out

Nothing lasts forever

And change can come overnight

But till EVERY person is happy

We still won't have it right

There's quite enough

To be had by all

And none need ever suffer

When each makes the commitment

"In word or deed I will do no harm"

Forgiveness and love

Will rule our actions

And the POWER

Which abides in the moment

Can transform ALL that is wrong

Life Happens

Life happens

A moment in

Space

Our response

Determines

Our place

We either

Choose fear

Negativity

Or we choose

Love and

Let it be

We're One

We are

Not separate

When we

Re-member

We're One

For All

I Can Change My World

I'll be the one who respects all life

I'll be the one choosing love not strife

I'll be the one who picks up the litter

I'll be the one who doesn't become bitter

I'll be the one to respect our Earth

I'll see the value of everyone's worth

I'll be the one who supports freedom for all

I'll be the one to tear down the wall

I'll be the one who never judges

I'll be the one who doesn't hold grudges

Paizli Palmrose © 2009

Where Does It End

Where does it end

The madness of life

With all our potential

Are we blind to our plight

So what if the past

Brought us to this

So what if what's been

Has left us a mess

Do we not have a choice

Can we truly not see

The destruction caused

When we are not free

No matter what is

Don't give up hope

Our choices determine

With what we will cope

We've raped our planet

For material gain

Will we run out of air

Or say that's insane

We pillage and kill

Believing we're right

And close our eyes

To our Earth's plight

Which generation

Will take control

Stop taking the crap

We're being told

For all our knowing

History has shown

Greed only injures

Our Earth our home

Life is precious

Are we so blind

To the responsibility

Of all mankind

Search your soul

The answers are there

Seek your connection

Become aware

Conscious beings

Are what Earth needs

Come together

Till all are free

We Could Do It

If you seek happiness, peace and security join me, my friend, in creating a world where patience and tolerance, kindness and compassion, longsuffering and gentleness rule our actions. A world where each Sovereign Being, plant, animal and mineral is respected and admired for their contribution to the whole. Where everyone knows that another's opinion is not an attack on one's own, just another way of looking at life. Which doesn't make another's any less valid.

The best that we can do in life is to live a life without fear. Fear is a mask we wear when we stop taking responsibility for Who We Are, when we forget how precious we are no matter our station in life, or our circumstance.

Why do we seek answers outside ourself instead of knowing life is a gift we've chosen to experience and there isn't a right or wrong way to go about it. You can only be you right now.

Though we've been taught by others, it doesn't make them right. Much teaching comes from the traditions of an era of fear where controling the masses took top priority. And the results are more than evident.

We needn't do anything if we are content with the state of affairs in our world. If we support five percent of the population conrolling eighty plus percent of the wealth while millions in the world are starving. If sending our sons off to war to kill someone else's son at the whim of corrupt rulers whose motives are greed and power isn't an issue. If we're content to have our drinking water polluted, Earth's top soil contaminated with pesticides so that mass production of crops which feed livestock instead of people can be grown. If the benefits of materialism: loss of family structure, increased debt, stockpiles of goods we "just had to have" cluttering our lives, filling storage units, children raising themselves cause our life style demands most of our time or the stress of clawing one's way to the top just to have it all yanked out from under you, just to name a few, are acceptible and you can continue to enjoy what we've created, peace be with you, live long and prosper there are no wrong choices at the moment we make them.

There is however, always, an opportunity to change. I'm sure future generations, unless we destroy ourselves, would appreciate it if we secured a world worth inhabiting, but of course they may never be anyway so we can always choose to eat, drink and be merry at least for a while.

I don't know about you but I could stand to see some more positive choices made. And I hope I'm not the only one. But I only know what's best for me, not for anyone else. I do know that change comes quickest when I focus on changing me and not worrying about how others are living their lives.
