Filthy rich people know

there are too many poor

So they scheme day and night

to annihilate more

They won't kill us outright

That's much too obvious

So they pretend to protect us

to be on our side

But the treachery they plan

cannot be denied

They've sold their souls

to have earthly treasure

While sadistic cruelty

they plan for their pleasure

Not too many adults

stand in their way

So controlling offspring

is the plan for the day

In nations illiterate

just spread some disease

And when help is offered

red tape is a leash

In nations more privileged

school testing will show

Pockets of wisdom

which surely must go

In some neighborhoods

sell drugs to the youth

To hinder their learning

promote violence in school

In all forms of media

feed them more lies

And when we're caught

have airtight alibis

We've trained them well

to trust what we say

No one will question

or get in our way

I understand how society has come to be what it is. I take full responsibility. But what can I do in a world where I have been conditioned to delegate my responsibility to anyone willing to take it on i.e. government, religion, business, family, media, even friends. Just so long as I don't have to take a stand and be who I am. Ultimately as I allow others to decide for me I am no longer free to choose how to live. I have in essence given away my freedom to be me.

Along with others I have grumbled and complained about the lack of control in my life. Maybe we aren't capable of making different choices. We could already be too far gone. So what's the point.

I can still hope for a better day. At least it's a pleasant fantasy.
